Assistant General Manager

Job Summary: To provide quality owner/guest service while operating within budgetary constraints for a resort property with units from 201 to 500 and provide assistance to the General Manager in managing all aspects of the resort’s operation. Essential Functions: Effectively handle and fulfill all owner/guest requests and issues Maintain a flexible work schedule Ensure that a member of management is available for emergencies 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Ensure proper scheduling of all employees and maintain proper scheduling of managers. Recruit, interview, hire, and ensure proper training of new employees Provide staff with the skills training to provide value-added hospitality services to owners & guests Proactively sign-up for and attend relevant corporate training courses Conduct coaching and counseling and take disciplinary action as needed in compliance with Soleil Management and resort policies and procedure Appropriately respond to and document accidents and incidents. Ensure safety, OSHA, HazCom, MSDS and GHS, compliance in all areas of the resort. Ensure timely response to guest surveys from People Metrics and any other OTA sites as requested by management or corporate communications team. Maintain a response rate of 40% of all People Metrics surveys. Meet or exceed RCI ratings for a Gold Crown Resort. Meet or exceed Interval International’s resort rating for a Select Resort. Model the 4 Principles of the FISH! Philosophy and the Guest Service Standards developed for the resort. Develop, maintain and promote relationships inter-departmentally across the company as well as with outside vendors and carriers. Develop and implement strategies to achieve front desk retail sales and upgrade goals. Communicate with corporate revenue team to and assist with on-line revenue budgeted goals where necessary. Control costs by adhering to standards of operations for forecasting, budgeting, scheduling payroll control and other expense management systems. Ensure that the resort’s operating costs are within budgetary guidelines and hold department heads responsible for their respective areas as assigned by the general manager Ability to compile and analyze data and make sensible assumptions accordingly Proactively address any and all issues that could negatively affect overall resort quality and seek methods to improve efficiency, cost savings and overall quality Perform all other job requests as assigned by the General Manager. Job Specifications: Proficient in Microsoft Word and Powerpoint Beginner to Intermediate skill level in Excel, including ability to enter and format data as well as write basic formulas (sum, average, count). Excellent oral and written English communication skills. Excellent customer service skills. Minimum of two years of experience as a department head (or equivalent) in a hotel or resort. Must have professional appearance. Must have the ability to read a P&L statement and learn to create a budget
